Delivery and Returns

At Timber Shelves we understand that you want your order as soon as you can which is why we always aim to get the goods that you purchased delivered to your door as soon as possible and as safely as possible. We use courier services that offer a fast delivery (usually next working day) and package your items securely to safeguard against and damage during transit. This page outlines our policies regarding the delivery and returns of your items.


When do you dispatch items?

We aim to dispatch all items according to the dispatch dates outlined on each product page. We also offer a faster 'Express' dispatch for prioritizing orders, that can be chosen during checkout. If you’d like a custom order machining, additional time might be needed, though you can contact us for a delivery date.

How much do you charge for delivery?

Unless otherwise stated, all of our shelves include any delivery costs within the price listed. This is so that it’s as easy as possible to see the exact price of the item you’re interested in, without any unexpected delivery charges during checkout.

When will you deliver my items?

We book our parcels with couriers that offer a next working day delivery service. Though we can’t control the actions of the courier, we always aim to have your shelves with you the following working day after being dispatched. Saturday deliveries are available, though will be at additional cost. Contact us should you require this.

Where can I have my items delivered?

Timber Shelves are able to deliver to an alternate delivery address during checkout. At this time we are only able to deliver within the UK mainland, as categorised by our courier.

Booking tradesmen to fit items ordered

Timber Shelves can not be held responsible due a delay in delivery, unless agreed in writing. Though we aim to dispatch and deliver your items as soon as possible, on the odd occasion situations that are unforeseen might delay delivery. We do not recommend booking any tradesmen until your items have been delivered.

Who will deliver my parcel?

We use a variety of couriers depending on the size and weight of your order. This is so that we can keep our prices affordable and provide savings to our customers. If you would like to know which courier will be delivering your order, along with tracking information, feel free to contact us.

What if I’m not available to sign for the parcel(s)?

Our couriers usually make further attempts to deliver a parcel should a failed attempt be made. Customers should take note that if multiple failed attempts are made and the goods are returned to us, a further delivery charge will be required in order to resend.

Can the delivery driver carry my goods inside?

It is not standard practice for the courier driver to carry your parcels in to your property. This is due to injury and insurance reasons whilst on your property. It is down to the discretion of the driver whether they deliver your parcel to your doorstep or inside your property.


You are welcome to collect your order from our workshop in Northamptonshire with prior notice. As a working joinery factory, customers aren’t able to arrive without prior notice to browse our product ranges, though we welcome customer visits when arranged. Contact us before or after placing an order from our website to arrange a time and date when your order can be collected. Our address is:

Our returns policy lasts for 60 days. If 60 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

If your items need to be returned it is at your cost and the items must be returned in a re-sale able condition. We ask that customers return items in suitable packaging, preferably the original packaging, so as not to cause damage during transit. Appropriate insurance should also be taken when booking the return.

Timber Shelves can not be help responsible for any additional cost that may result from a faulty product.

There are particular situations where only partial refunds are granted:
* Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
* Any item that is returned more than 60 days after delivery.
* A deduction of the original delivery cost of your item.

A 15% restocking fee will apply to all returns that are not defect, which will be deducted from the refund when processed.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.


Once your return is received and inspected, we will be in touch with you regarding the status of your refund.

If we approve your return we’ll process the refund back to the original method of purchase, within 7 days.

Late or missing refunds

* Though rare, if you haven’t received your refund, first re-check your bank account.
* Secondly, contact your credit card company, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
* Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
* If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at and we’ll look in to this further.

Sale items

Unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded, only regular priced items may be refunded.

Custom items

Custom orders that have been made according to customers requirements can not be returned, unless deemed faulty.

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

Delivery costs are non-refundable. You will be required and responsible for paying to return the item(s) to us.

It can vary how long an exchanged product takes to reach you, depending on your location.

We recommend you use a courier service that offers tracking and that you insure against loss or damage. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item, nor in the condition required to process an exchange.
