Timber Shelves was created with the ultimate aim to make high quality, handmade timber shelving and be the ‘go to’ website for any wooden shelves and accessories. We’re passionate about creating beautiful shelving and giving every shelf the attention it needs to exceed our customers' expectations, no matter how large or small the order.
Justin Brown first began his journey in woodworking learning the trade in his father's local joinery company in 2011. Fast forward a few years to 2014, he decided to go alone, making wooden furniture and accessories for customers around the UK, before launching Timber Shelves in 2016.
His aim was clear. To become the leading supplier of handmade wooden shelves using a variety of sustainably-sourced solid timbers, styled to suit any room and any home.

With the aim of being the leader in manufacturing timber shelves, what better start than to create timbershelves.co.uk! As the name suggests, our focus has always been to provide wooden shelving, in wide ranges of timbers, styles, sizes and finishes.
Having spent considerable time perfecting several styles of shelves, we have developed a highly popular range of wooden shelves that offer customers a wide choice, yet all visually stunning. Featuring several different styles including modern, rustic and reclaimed, the shelving products we have available have been designed to meet the requirements of our customers.

Aiming to provide better
I first started to plan the idea of creating a website dedicated to supplying timber shelving several years ago whilst employed as a joiner. Even from that early stage my plan has always been to offer something better than the rest. Different timbers, styles, sizes, finishes, and all to meet customers on a wide range of budgets.
The more I researched the shelving market the more I found the same types of shelves - pine shelves in oak stained colours being sold as “oak shelves”, rustic shelves being labelled as “reclaimed shelves” and priced at a premium as a result. I knew I could offer better!
Having spent a good number of years machining timber of varying sizes I knew I had the expertise on the machining side, whilst also having the tools and equipment to create appealing styles. Combined with thorough testing of wood finishes I was ready to get started.
Future focus & aims
My vision has always been to offer variety and high quality. It's taken countless hours of design and tweaking, but I couldn't be happier with the product range we now have.
As the name might suggest, our team specialise in creating wooden shelves, and as such use a range of hardwoods and softwoods to create beautiful pine, walnut and oak shelves in different sizes and styles. High quality and satisfaction has been our long-standing priority, focusing on crafting unbeatable solid shelving.
Over the coming months and years our product range will increase as we aim to meet any requirement. We will always have our most popular timbers, styles and sizes available, though also strive to meet the demands of any custom orders. Whether that be a custom style, size, or a specific type of timber, we’ll always aim to accomodate.
